The dispersal of about 3,000 protesting farmers that blocked the Davao-Cotabato Highway in Kidapawan City last April 1, 2016 resulted to into a bloody encounter between rallyist and policemen.
PNP anti-riot policemen sustained injuries after being beaten and thrown with rocks, while two policemen were under critical condition due to head trauma.
PSMBFI extended financial assistance for 144 policemen, being members of the Association, in the amount of P2,000 each and the Wounded in Action (WIA) Benefit to 10 members.
The PSMBFI WIA Benefit is given to members who sustain major and minor injuries in the amount of P30,000 and P20,000, respectively. The Association understands the challenges that go with law enforcement that it provides insurance benefits for members who risk live and limb to keep the peace.
